A considerable amount of the required information in risk and emergency management is geographical, but this information does not always reach the right actors at the right time, so how can geographical information be organised in such a way that it supports risk and emergency management more effectively? The answer requires a conceptualisation of risk and emergency management practices resulting in the network-centric concept, which implies that those involved in risk and emergency management are connected and that they have the capability to share and access information.

Flying rescue robots

Eagle deployed from the air. Increasingly, tests are taken of the use of 'drones, unmanned mini-planes or helicopters. Mid-october there was a field test at a shipyard in Amsterdam to investigate what tasks a UAV can be deployed during an incident.

Eagle operates in Pakistan

The crisis management system Eagle will give help the Punjab province of Pakistan. The system operates to gain control of the local emergency responders to the big flood disaster. A team of volunteers of Esri Nederland and Geodan and is locally working in Lahore to install Eagle, deploy and order data. The team will also train the 40 local emergency responders.

A fire in national parks can spread rapidly, the burning dunes of Bergen did confirm. With such major calamities, communication and logistics are essential. Esri Nederland and Geodan join forces in Eagle BV

By signing the cooperation agreement on September 23 between Esri Nederland and Geodan, the development of the system Eagle flee to a new phase. The Public Safety Award winner will be extended the suite with a product that can be deployed across the POS sector (Public Order and Safety). With the collaboration between Esri Nederland and Geodan a lot geo-ICT skills and experience comes together.
